As in this course the students are taught to develop their guided and independent writing skills. This is an important aspect of the course so try to have a notebook ready.

    Notes from Teacher Tricia:

    1. It is important to go at a speed with suits your age and development. Don't move onto a new letter sound until you can identify it when they see it and make the action. This will ensure that you are ready for more.

    2. After the videos keep practicing using your flashcards at home. (You can laminate these to help them last longer).

    3. When you read bedtime stories, have fun pointing out the letters and words that we have learned.

    4. Stick/pin your flashcards on display where you can look back at them regularly so they don't forget and can develop more fluency. (Near the kitchen table is a good spot).

    5. Most importantly: Keep it fun :-) Give lots of praise and celebrate success when you've learned something new.
