Let me introduce the content we will produce and make together!
This is an important first lesson in the After Effects Motion Graphic course which is about morphing shapes. Here I want to touch on the topic of parametric shapes and turning them (or rather using instead) into bezier paths. Paths are essential to the technique we will use so you must get familiar with them. Every vector item has it's paths.
With this lesson I would like you to "jump into the water" with After Effects. I will introduce you to one of your first animations to create which will help you understand the workflow and general movement through After Effects.
This lesson is provided for everyone who is opening After Effects for the first time or has very limited knowledge about it and would like to start working in the program. Here I explain the essential things like what is a keyframe, what is pre-composing, the navigation and interface and more. Jump in if you want to refresh your knowledge or learn the essential basics of After Effects.
Here you can download the resources and the After Effects project file for reference if you have troubles creating the design on Your own or don't have time to search for icons to use.
This will be an very important lesson in this After Effects course. We will learn how to morph shapes created from single vector paths. We will use a few examples like objects from within After Effects or social icons like Twitter, Facebook or Pinterest.
Something important to remember for now and all your future work you might do in Motion Graphic Software. The first vertex indicates towards which point the transformation will occur. You can set, change, and modify the First Vertex within every path on a shape layer.
Here we will go a step further into the design trying to morph objects which are created from several layers / masks / paths. It will teach more more advanced usage of this technique and also give you deeper insights in working with masks.
This lesson is purely to enjoy the design we have made and spice it a little bit up with colors and fun effects.
For the work you will be making now and in the future it's important to learn how to render transparent videos. I'm sure some of you are already familiar with the output settings and rendering options but it's essential and needs to be covered!
In the first step to morph png images with help of paths, masks, effects and shape layers we will create outlines (or rather trace them) in After Effects. Afterwards we can use the newly created masks to start prepare a morphing.
The second part will teach us how to use the reshape effect in After Effect, but also how to work with PNG images and grow their bounds.
Harness After Effects shape layers and morping by completing our PNG morphing animation. This will extend your knowledge in that department and allow to create morphing for Shape layers or simple bitmap images you find over the Internet.
In this after effects motion graphics tutorial I will go about selecting a font and creating the outlines for our stroke animation.
In this after effects motion graphics tutorial I will go about preparing and pre-composing the neccesary layers.
In this after effects motion graphics tutorial I will go about applying effects to our composition.
In this after effects motion graphics tutorial I will go about selecting the right colors and filling our letters with them.
In this after effects motion graphics tutorial I will go about another letter from scratch, so you can watch the entire workflow and memorize important things.
In this after effects motion graphics tutorial I will go about additional workflow tips to make it quicker for you.
In this after effects motion graphics tutorial I will go about how to finalize the animation!
Here we will start to create our shape layers and adjust them in after effects cc to get the initial animation prepared.
Here we will work with the repeater and do some magic with our layers and keyframes to teach you how to create accent graphic animation in after effects
Here I would like to present you another usage of this technique. There are endless ways of using path morphing in After Effects and we should put it to use!
With this tutorial I want to take the shape layer morphing to the next step and show you some cool tricks which can help you prepare text animations. We will take a quote and try to reveal it in a fashionable manner in After Effects using techniques like revealing from a track matte or our beloved layer path morphing in After Effects cs6, cc or cc 2015.
This is a little bonus design experience I would like to share with you. From time to time we have to prepare a design in After Effects that would seem counter-intuitive to make as a graphic designer. Designing in AE is not the same as drawing in Pohotoshop where all the tools are straightforward. I want to show you a technique of making patterns with the repeater in motion graphic software.
In this lecture I would like to show you a simple approach on a minimal title opener / lower third animation. We will animate a shape layer to showcase a line going form the top of the screen towards its bottom and revealing text along the way. A few cool After Effects tricks will be included and a few track mattes sprinkled along in this design. Let's do this project together and ease some keyframes in it!
With this essential tutorial I want to teach you what does the Region of Interest in After Effects do and what can we use it for. With help of that I will show you how to adjust the size of your current composition to perfectly fit the objects you have in them. Often you do want to set keyframes on composition in order to be able to place things inside those comps so they do not get changed.
With this crispy lecture I wish to inform and teach you about the wonderful Puppet Pin Tool in Adobe After Effects. With help of this splendid tool we are able to animate any PNG image we like
This tutorial will teach you how to make animated trails, strokes, and following paths behind an object. There are many ways and techniques of adding trails, for example with the echo effect and parenting but in this tutorial we will focus on creating stroke paths and using Trim Paths to reveal and hide them behind the moving shape. Just like in the example at the beginning.
Here I want to show you how to divide values of properties (or anywhere withing After Effects) for an efficient workflow.
It's also nice to see what you have created, if you want to share that here I show you how to do it :)
It was a great honor and pleasure to teach you in this class. Thank you for beeing an awesome student and person!
This is a bonus lecture for the course.
CURRENT UPDATE (16 Feb 2016): Added How To Morph PNG Images section!
Learn to morph between shapes, objects, or icons inside of After Effects. In the new lectures I also tech how to morph between *.PNG images and how you can make appealing video transitions with this technique. With this course I want you to learn how to properly work with shape layers and their paths. How to create those paths, import them from other programs like Illustrator or Photoshop and use them with a hanfull of tricks to be able to morph & transition between each other. We will be working of course in our favourite motion graphics software - Adobe After Effects. No matter which version you use, After Effects CS6 or After Effects CC I will outline the differences if any occur and it will be the perfect intro for you to jump into those programs.
Why This Course?
This course will take you by hand even if you are a total beginner. Some After Effects Courses are all about theory, they go several hours about every single feature there is, showing you what you can possibly do but not actualling completing a real life project, whilist here you are working on a REAL-LIFE example, you are instantly working inside the program alongside with me and learn the neccesary tools to finalize the project inside the class. After Effects is a very effective tool if you use all available tricks & techniques. The best part the price is very low as for an AE class and you only need 1 hour of time to complete the design!
Biggest Benefits of this class:
Make use of excellent software like after Effects is and use this technique for YouTube, Videos, Projects, Work for Your Clients and know more about motion design than you did before. What are you waiting for....Enroll now!
